Abnormalities jaw - joint disorders usually occur because of unbalanced activity of the muscles of the jaw and or spasm of the jaw muscles and overuse . Many symptoms may not appear related to the temporomandibular joint ( TMJ ) itself . Here are the common symptoms.

1 . HEADACHE
Nearly 80 percent of patients with a TMJ disorder complain of headache , and 40 % report facial pain . The pain is often times be more when opening and closing the jaw . Exposure to cold weather or air conditioning can increase muscle contraction and facial pain.
2 . EARACHE
Approximately 50 percent of patients with a TMJ disorder notice ear pain , but there are no signs of infection. Ear pain is usually described as being in front of or below the ear .
Often patients are treated repeatedly for a presumed ear infection diseases which can often be distinguished from TMJ disorder by an associated hearing loss ( hearing loss ) or ear drainage ( which would be expected if it was an ear infection ) . Because ear pain occurs so commonly , ear specialists are frequently called on to make a diagnosis of TMJ disorder .
3 . SOUND - SOUND
Sounds of gnashing ( grinding ) , kercek ( crunching ) and erupted ( popping ) , medically termed crepitus , are common in patients with TMJ disorders . These sounds may or may not be accompanied by increased pain . Or sound "click " or popping in the jaw .
4 . DIZZY
Of patients with TMJ disorder , 40 % reported a vague sense of dizziness or imbalance (usually not a spinning type vertigo ) . The cause of this type of headache is unknown .
5 . THE FULLNESS OF THE EAR
Approximately 30 percent of patients with a TMJ disorder describe muffled ears ( MUFFLED ), blocked (clogged ) or full (full ) . They may feel ear fullness and pain during airplane departed ( takeoffs ) and landed ( landings ).
These symptoms are usually caused by abnormal function of the eustachian tube ( eustachian tube ), the structure of which is responsible for setting the pressure in the middle ear . Estimated to patients with TMJ disorders have hyperactivity (spasms ) of the muscles that are responsible for regulating the opening and closing of the eustachian tube .
6 . RINGING IN THE EARS ( Tinnitus )
For causes unknown , 33 percent of patients with a TMJ disorder experience noise ( noise ) or buzzing (tinnitus) .
7 . NUMBNESS OR TINGLING IN THE FINGERS
Besides interrupt can also paralyze , numb sometimes accompanied by severe pain . If it is so , it means narrowing neural , and never ignore it , because with the loss of permanent nerve damage will occur if left untreated .
The most common condition that causes numbness in the hand is carpal canal syndrome (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome) and the channel cubital syndrome .
8 . PAIN IN THE FACE
Trigeminal neuralgia ( pain face ) is characterized by brief episodes of strong facial pain, stabbing, like electricity. These episodes occur spontaneously or can be triggered by light touch, chewing movements, or changes in temperature ( eg cold ). Pain is very short so it can be crippling at all. In addition, weight loss is common as oral trigger prevents someone who has eaten enough to maintain adequate nutrition.
A less common form, called "Atypical Trigeminal Neuralgia", resulting in less pain short, constant, burning or dull pain, sometimes with a prick like electricity.
